DAD KEEPS SOPHIA ALIVE--DAY 2

Bryn had one more day of work to do before taking her 5-6 weeks of family leave from work, so Paul is staying home with Sophia again today. He's having a great time!

This morning before Bryn left for work, dad fed Sophia "Second Breakfast." (First breakfast occurred at about 3:30). It was shaping up to be a busy day, so Sophia ate like a champion, knowing that she would need all that energy for the day.

After second breakfast, and a few minutes in her new, improved bouncy-seat (put together last night by mom), dad and Sophia were off to the doctor's office for some follow-up blood testing (PKU test). Sophia was less than thrilled about another trip to the doctor, but she soon resigned herself to the inevitable and fell asleep.

Once at the doctor's office, dad learned that the lab required Sophia to be weighed before the blood could be drawn (what, were they worried about taking too much blood???). So, we trekked over to the nurses area and stripped Sophia down for her weigh in. AND...to much applause and cheer, we learned that Sophia has broken the 10-pound barrier. She now weighs 10 pounds, 6 ounces. Not bad for a 16-day old. To celebrate, Sophia peed on the scale and on the doctor's table--but dad deftly avoided getting any on his clothes!

After that adventure, we went to Lowe's to do a little home improvement shopping. Yes, Sophia was the only baby in Lowe's on a Friday morning, and a few of the rough and tumble contractors gave dad some strange looks as he pushed his daughter around in the shopping cart. But, it was yet another new and exciting experience for Sophie!

Well, as you can imagine, all that traveling wore us both out. Sophia took a nice little nap before lunch, and dad enjoyed a cheeseburger. I tried to get Sophia to take a picture of me enjoying the cheeseburger, but she just was not interested.

Well, that is about all from the Sophia and daddy files for now. I'm sure there will be more to report later!
