With one thing and
another, it's been almost a month since I put anything on the blog. I'm not sure if we've been too busy having fun, or if I have been too sick, but at any rate here we are with almost a month to update.We've had a very good month. I don't think a weekend has passed without seeing family. We celebrated my mother's birthday, Mother's Day, and my
birthday. Mother's Day was very nice, Paul worked quite hard to make it a special day. Sophia colored me a picture and picked out these flowers. 
When I first noticed these very colorful flowers, Paul told me in no uncertain terms that Sophia had picked out these flowers herself. Paul and the other guys prepared a lovely dinner for us, which unintentionally included chicken en flambé, but tasted quite good.
Mother's Day was just about the first time we'd been with Lindsey when she had been awake and interacting most of the time. Lindsey got a lot of attention from all the adults in the room and Sophia did not approve. She is accustomed to being the sole focus of attention from all 8 of us, and when Lindsey was being fussed over much more than she was, Sophia decided she needed to do
something about the situation. She climbed all over me, she danced around so people would watch her, and eventually she got a blanket, climbed into my lap, laid like a baby and demanded that I sing to her. Poor Sophia, she's not the queen of the family any more. While we don't like to see her distressed, it's probably good for her.There was a heat wave with temperatures in the 90's; which may be common in other parts of the country but is hardly common for
Oregon in August, much less may. Sophia lately has been obsessed with trains, so we took her to Portland and road the light rail system with Papa and Grannie. She was overwhelmed by the heat and all the people, but seemed to enjoy it. We went to the zoo, where it was so hot, the bears got a big pile of ice to lay 
on.It's been a good, if busy month. While it has cooled down we haven't gotten any less busy. I
don't think June will be any more relaxed, but I'll try to do a better job 
to keep up with the blog.
